A satirical perspective on the difficulties of "normal life and love" in the year, 2043. Global changes in the environment, massive world wars, depletion of natural resources and energy - have drastically reversed the order of cultural needs - the once, unprecedented ambitions of our culture, are ultimately reduced to a "collective paralysis" that has stunned the collective abilities of "The People." To simply make it to the end of the day is the only goal left. As countries are depleted of their identities, populations, and electricity - finding a "safe place" to fall in love, and to embrace reality is the ultimate challenge.

However, with all the catastrophe - and the absence of media - the Unknown has expanded exponentially. Everything outside national borders is now a mystery, and possibly and escape. With the destruction of technology, mysticism and faith have a new revolution.

"Boys Without Cars" is a clever and provocative adventure that turns the preconceived image of Suburbia upside down, and then extracts a completely remarkable voyage from deep within the lives of young, single Mother, and her Teenage Son. This unique and intoxicating concoction that courageously veers away from passé portrayals of Suburbia by discovering a culture, and a family - in the midst of a heroic journey - to experience life through: companionship, romance, self-love and realization; without losing that essential, glorious innocence of youth.

Raval and Rounds became friends and colleagues while attending UT's Graduate Film Program. Raval will direct "Boys Without Cars," and hopes to begin production within the year. They are also actively collaborating on future products.

PJ Raval has recently had his second film accepted into Sundance, and has also been named, "One of the Top 25, Young American Filmmakers": http://www.filmmakermagazine.com/summer2006/

We are delighted to announce, that Rounds is finally able to focus on his most passionate screenplay to date. A project that he has been obsessing about for years - working out the nuanced details of the complicated story, but the writing process is now officially in progress:

This mixed media, short film chronicles the absurd, yet fascinating incident when "Two Local South Austin Bum Legends" decided that they could make a "big score" by stealing a mystical rodeo saddle from the famous country and western bar, in Austin, Texas: "The Broken Spoke."

This early short film was written, directed, and produced by Gregg Rounds. His early and innovative techniques honestly documented one side of the scenario's reality with it's actual main characters, but the narrative/dramatized side of the story was developed by casting Actors to play the roles of the "Saddle Theives."

Mandon Maloney and now famous "Lil' Cap'n Travis" provide the film's music. Local characters and personalities adorn this film. Ryan Linehan, an expert editor from Hollywood worked as Creative Consultant. Adam Brewer contributed footage. Broken Spoke Owner, James White provides perfect narration, and the mysterious, Cornelia Thompson - a Bulgarian film student Co-produces the piece...

This short film was embraced and celebrated by Festivals around the country. The unique mixture of Documentary style interviews spliced together with the intentionally hilarious "mocked up" parts of the film have created a hilarious and yet poignant piece of history to document some of Austin, Texas' most cherished and yet most indescribable curiosities.
